Thank you and Merry Christmas!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped to make the 2016 St. Teresa Christmas Fair a huge success! I think we achieved our goal to make the fair more about the children while still raising funds for the school.  I am excited to let you know the preliminary numbers are in and the fair raised a little over $22,500!

Congratulations to the winner of our Winter Windowland Contest – The Duffy Family – who decorated the Disney Character Window.  Thank you also to all the participants – with your help the gym really was transformed to a Christmas Wonderland!

15317976_1196385977063688_5223993015411908002_nThis year’s Fair would not have been a success without your help – whether you volunteered to work at the fair, donated to the fair, helped us at our craft/build it nights, baked some delicious treats for us to sell or simply attended – I truly thank all of you.  The HSA is  working on a complete list of all the volunteers/contributors and will email/post a complete thank you list on the HSA Website/Facebook next week.  Again, thank you all so very much.15391096_1196386147063671_7229476994012932903_n

There are some people who went above and beyond that I would like to make a special mention of – not only did they volunteer/donate – they spent weeks helping with crafts, building games, wrapping prizes, stuffing straws, getting donations and gave above and beyond to this fair to make it what it was –

The Eisenhardt Family, The LoPorto Family, The Bilotti Family, The Hutchinson Family, The Duffy Family, The Gofas Family, The Angelopoulos Family, The DePeppo Family, The Mattarelliano Family, The Bock Family, James & Mary Lyons, Theresa & Lincoln Hession, and The Mascolo Family.

15285007_1196385980397021_1992775727583648848_nThank you to Monsignor Belford and the Holy Name Society for allowing us to share the spectacular tree lighting event with the Christmas Fair.  Saturdayevening was extra special because of this and really brought the love of family and friends together in this blessed season.

I look forward to working together with everyone in 2017 to continue to have fun events like this for our St. Teresa Families to enjoy and spend time together with each other.

Here’s to the Merriest of Christmases and a Happy and Healthy 2017!

Recap of the Health and Safety Fair at STS- 10-18-2013

For those that could join us today at the STS Family Guild Health and Safety fair, we hope that you and your little ones enjoyed all that was there – from the vendors, the Police Department, Fire Department and more!

As we stated, we had previously arranged to have 3 machines set up for the Operation Safe child cards that were to be taken- unfortunately, only one was made available to us today which had left many parents without receiving the Safe Child cards.  The good news is that we have arranged a tentative date of November 4th to have them return to complete the cards for all of those who did not receive theirs today.   More information will be provided as soon as we have it available.  To learn more about Operation Safe Child check out the link below!
Thanks!

Staying Connected

record book side 1a

Welcome back everyone and to those that are new to our school, WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME!

As many are aware, the Family Guild is similar to what is traditionally knowns as the PTA.  Our role is primarily to raise monies for extra projects that the school wants to offer; to coordinate fun events and activities for our students and families, and to communicate the needs of our families with the schools’ administration.

All parents are invited to join and be active members of the Family Guild.  The Guild has a Governing board that consists of many dedicated parents that are here to help you transition into STS.  We have several committees designed to coordinate events and meet the needs of our families, all of whom you can meet at one of our welcome to school events.

To give you some support and guidance as the school year begins, we will have a welcome center set up in the blessed John XXII Pastoral Center (outside the school yard at 115 Winsor Road) on Monday, September 9th and Tuesday, September 10th from 7:45-10:00am where you can meet the family guild board and other parents.  We hope that you will stop in after you drop your children off and have a cup of coffee/tea and some conversation.  The Center will also be open on September 12th for the Pre-K 3 parents after your children heads into class with Mrs. Simon at noon.

In addition, we have also scheduled our Back to School Kick – Off Event/ First Family Guild Meeting for September 19th at 7:30pm in Conran Hall (aka the gymnasium).  We hope that you will join us to see what is in store for the school year and to learn about the different groups/ societies St. Teresa Parish has to offer.  There will be chances to win door prizes, become a class mom or dad, volunteer to help with various events, and most importantly to meet new friends, or say hello to old ones and have some fun!

We have quick and informative evening meetings each month in the lower church hall beginning at 7:30pm.  TO accommodate for varying schedules, we alternate between Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  We also have scheduled some morning meetings throughout the school year.  A complete schedule will be given to you during the first week of school.

We have also scheduled many fun events for parents and their children this year including our annual Health and Safety Fair, a Mother and Daughter Tea, a Father and Daughter Dance, a Mother and Son Dance, a Father and Son Sport Outing, Our Annual Christmas Fair, the Basket Auction and so much more.  A calendar of events will also be distributed and posted to our Facebook Page as well as here.
